The Pre-Intermediate Class is a 4 week class which covers 3 dances over the course of a 4 week month. In order to do this class, the student should have completed the Social Foundation Class, unless given express permission from the teacher.
The number next to the dances indicates the Section. There are 4 Sections for each dance/dance pairing which cover different steps and technique at the Pre-Intermediate Level. Sections can be taken in any order but the student should cover all 4 sections before attempting the next level (Intermediate), unless given express permission from the teacher.
No partner is necessary as we changes partners regularly. Changing partners is not a must but it is encouraged as it will build your confidence with leading or following various partners.
At this level, students should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. Shoes which have leather soles are acceptable but the student should start to consider purchasing actual dance shoes as this will improve their balance and overall movement. No sneakers and ladies should not wear tight skirts which restricts their movement.
October: Foxtrot, Swing, Viennese waltz (4)
